On Kihveli-stage on Friday 18.7.2025: Max on the Rox 

Bio:

A shared love for blues rock gives a rise to a band where every player has free space to make their own decisions in the band but everyone plays with one heartbeat. Mutual harmony is what they are looking for. The band wants to leave the listener with a good feeling.

Born and living in western Finland ’Finnish-Texas’ Vaasa, Max, Markku and Riku are always looking for the right route together to get the band and audience in a good mood during live gigs, and the same thing is repeated on the records. Max’s great great grandfather was a shaman in northern Finland and he cured the sick and made people feel good. Now is Max’s time time to do his work. He completes the basics of the songs, recording them for the band members to listen to. Writes texts which he usually sees as short films. At first singing a demo song and later transforms that mumbo-jumbo into the actual text. Together they conjure the mess of emotions to life and make it everybody to listen and feel. Max beat his guitar strings so that it sounds like a living animal and sings the lyrics in his rough voice so you might see what is in his mind. Markku looks for solid bass lines which you can feel in your guts and Riku finds a grooving drumbeat which is following the whole song and give it it’s heartbeat. That beat the audience can follow to feel good and forget all the sorrow at least for a while. The band often goes to jamming the songs following the audience’s reactions to share their good feeling with everybody who needs healing. So live music to a live audience is what the band is always looking for.

Kihvelin lavalla perjantaina 18.7.2025: Max on the Rox

Bio:

Max on the Rox on bändi, jossa jokaisella soittajalla on oma vapautensa fiilistellä musaa, mutta kaikki ovat yhteisessä harmoniassa löytäneet blues rockin sykkivän sydämen. Fiilis, sillä mennään.

Suomen Texasissa, Vaasassa perustettu Max on the Rox (Max, Markku ja Riku) tähtää aina keikoilla yhteiseen hyvään fiilikseen yleisön kanssa, ja sama lämmin tunnelma kuuluu levyilläkin. Maxin isoisoisä oli aikoinaan lappalainen samaani, joka paransi sairaita ja sai kansan voimaan hyvin. Nyt Max jatkaa tätä samaa(nin) hyvän tunteen jakamista.

Biisit syntyy Maxin loihtimana, hän tekee ensin pohjat ja demoversiot bändin muille pojille kuunneltavaksi. Aluksi sanat on sävellysten päällä silkkaa mutinaa ja mongerrusta, josta myöhemmin muodostuu lopulliset tekstit. Sanoitukset Max näkee päässään monesti lyhytelokuvina. Bändi saa yhdessä tästä kaikesta taiottua biisit eloon, saa ihmiset kuuntelemaan, ja tuntemaan.

Max saa kitaran ulvomaan kuin eläin ja karkealla laulusaundillaan tulkitsee biisin niin että tunnepuolen sanomat välittyy yleisölle varmasti.
Markku luo bassolinjat niin että ytimissä jytisee. Rikun rummut groovaa tyylillä ja hoitaa sen tärkeimmän, eli sydämen sykkeen biisin pohjalle.
Tällä paketilla keikasta tulee yleisölle välitettyä hyvää oloa, jonka avulla jopa surutkin aina hetkeksi unohtuu. Bändi saa yleisön reagoimaan hyvällä fiiliksellä ja innostaa bändinkin jammailemaan biiseihin uusia sävyjä. Livemusan viihdyttävä ja parantava voima välittyy.
